Norrahammar's products are handcrafted in Sweden from materials chosen for their durability, beauty, and low environmental impact. With minimal care, these pieces will age gracefully and serve you for decades.
 

Cast Iron

Norrahammar's cast iron products are made to last and require minimal maintenance:

• Outdoor Use: Cast iron naturally develops a patina over time, forming a protective surface. This is part of the material's charm and does not affect function. If desired, rust can be removed with a wire brush or sandpaper.

• Optional Treatment: For a darker finish, untreated surfaces can be oiled periodically using standard cooking oil. Apply lightly with a cloth, then heat the surface gently (e.g., by sunlight or during warm seasons).

• Winter Storage: Products can be left outdoors year-round. However, storing them dry during winter will slow natural patination.

Aluminium

Aluminium items are low-maintenance:

• Clean with mild detergent and water.

• Avoid acidic cleaners that may affect the surface finish.

• Over time, a matte oxide layer may form, which offers protection and aesthetic character.

Wood (if applicable)

If your product includes wood components:

• Use a mild soap and water solution for cleaning.

• Oil untreated wood surfaces with linseed oil once or twice a year to preserve their natural look and prevent cracking.

Assembly Instructions

Most Norrahammar products are delivered pre-assembled or require minimal assembly. However, some larger items may be delivered in parts to facilitate transport.

General Guidance

• Assembly is straightforward, requiring basic tools such as a spanner or hex key (if needed, included in shipment).

• Always place components on a soft surface when assembling to avoid scratches.

• Follow the assembly diagram included with your delivery. If any parts are unclear, Scandinavian Design Co Ltd can provide assistance or request clarification directly from the manufacturer.

Fixing to Ground (if applicable)

Many Norrahammar outdoor products can be fixed to the ground for added security:

• Use appropriate bolts/screws depending on the foundation material (stone, concrete, wood).

• Ground fixing is generally recommended for public or high-traffic installations.

If you are unsure whether your product requires assembly or ground fixing, please contact us prior to delivery.

Shipping Policy

Scandinavian Design Co Ltd coordinates and oversees all logistics for UK deliveries of Norrahammar products. As these are handcrafted and made to order, delivery times vary depending on the nature of the product.

Delivery Times

• Standard Orders (catalogue items): Delivered within up to 12 weeks from the order date.

• Bespoke, Handmade & Special Editions: Delivery timeframes are confirmed upon request and may exceed standard timelines depending on production complexity.

• All items are produced to order in Sweden and shipped to the UK using trusted freight partners such as DHL Freight, DSV, or DB Schenker.

Delivery Method

• Products are delivered curbside unless otherwise agreed.

• Larger items may arrive on pallets and require unloading equipment at delivery site. Please notify us in advance if there are access limitations.

Shipping Costs

• Shipping costs are quoted at the time of order and depend on weight, dimensions, and delivery location.

• In some cases, consolidated shipments can reduce overall freight cost. Please ask for a tailored shipping quote.

VAT & Customs Declarations

• Scandinavian Design Co Ltd is a UK-registered company. All goods are sold with UK VAT included, where applicable.

• As the appointed UK agent, we handle all customs declarations and import formalities on your behalf, ensuring seamless delivery from Sweden to the UK.

• VAT invoices are provided with all purchases.
